In the eighties when cell phones started being installed in cars, some people posted their phone numbers on their back or side window. That didn’t last long.

They’re not “speed enforcement cameras” they’re part of a mass surveillance system with the feature that records speed and adds that data along with all the other data it collects and associates with your plate number and any beacons your cell phone is transmitting.
If it was about speeding or safety they’d design the road better or have police patrolling more often.
Just take a look at how these systems are abused by the government in the UK and US. Does this still make you feel safe?

I’ve always assumed this (and assumed that other people assumed this), because if you talk to homophobes they’ll eventually say something like “it’s a choice!” because it’s a choice for them. It’s not a choice for me because gay porn doesn’t turn me on – and if it did I wouldn’t care anyway because that’s how I was raised. But it DOES turns them on, AND they were raised in an environment where this is THE WORST THING EVER, so it upsets them and they get all irrational and punchy (lesson learned: DO NOT discuss this theory with a homophobe.)
TLDR; IMHO Homophobes who think orientation is a choice are closeted gays because logic.
It would be nice to see a better study. Interesting if one hasn’t been done in all this time…

Americans are brainwashed to believe that there’s only one particular and specific way to protest, and beyond that all you can do is kill people.
They haven’t yet realized that there is a huge swathe of options in between, and it requires no organization or depending on others, and no violence against anyone. You can just quietly do stuff. Probably less risky than doing anything publicly in a country with ubiquitous surveillance and the law no longer matters. Protests are great for showing the level of public support for a movement, but if the government doesn’t represent the people their effect will be minimal for producing real change.
There currently is no cost for ventures into fascism. Make it so expensive they’ll think twice next time (if there is a next time.)
These points were all disproved long ago. The jack is a the same thickness as the display.
The reason is because BT headphones have a much higher margin, and need to be replaced every few years because of the battery (if not already replaced because they were lost or damaged).
It’s just a dumb cash grab.

That’s the best part, you monsters.
Everyone’s different. I remember a lot, and so clean up on trivia night.
Even if you aren’t the type to remember, you’re still learning. The details aren’t always as important as the concepts.
Starlink should be globalized. A planet only needs one low-altitude orbiting communications network. Better to standardize the technology and platform and let them contribute to one system than to have a dozen identical competing systems crashing into each other and fucking things up for everyone.

I went to Catholic school (in Canada) and was taught (by priests and nuns) that Christianity probably started as a mushroom cult, Jesus probably didn’t exist but was a composite of various wandering prophets/lunatics wandering around about that time (apparently it’s been a popular way for idle young men to pick up chicks for centuries), etc… The bible was taught as a (very flawed) historical document and not the literal “word of god” as it was decades before. Even services were performed as comforting archaic rituals rather than stodgy religious services. This was consistent across schools, and even the one that was the seat of a cardinal was no different.
The Catholic religion gets a lot of flack (and deservedly so!), but at least they recognize it’s basically just ritualistic bullshit (in Canada at least). Looking back, I think they are just happy to have people in their weird shroomless mushroom cult.

Or the 2A people are perfectly content with their place in a fascist society.

Stack Overflow hasn’t been useful for at least 10 years, if not longer.
The flagged “correct” answer is almost always wrong due to idiotic power-users and the vast horde of idiots who upvote obviously wrong answers because they’re bootlickers. The real answer is usually buried in between the posts by gatekeepers, pedants, idiots with something to prove, wannabe admins, egotistical idiots, the highly opinionated technologically insecure, etc ad nauseam. Reddit is just as bad for tech questions, if not worse.
Since I started using LLMs (running on my own inference server) I haven’t used anything else for tech questions that wasn’t opinion-based. Much, much more useful, and it requires you to think seriously about the problem to come up with a good prompt – which often gives you the answer before you even finish the prompt.
Oh yeah. This does it for me too. A 20-something volume series space-opera or tactical space-war is perfect for GSD. Works great for insomnia too.
Fortunately we’re in a sci-fi golden-age so there’s lots of great stuff to keep a brain happily occupied while the body mindlessly toils. Urban fantasy is another great genre for this. There’s even urban-fantasy space-opera if that’s your thing, lol.

The implication is that on meds they’re super-focused and goal-oriented. Without they’re having fun and trying new ideas. Neither is good or bad, right or wrong. Rings true for me.
Meds aren’t going to make anyone neurotypical – they just help them harness their awesomely chaotic mind so they can do something more productive with it.

And why wouldn’t they? It’s not like votes are going to matter anymore.

Not that I can find.
Interesting, I never heard of them. But it looks like they don’t stream torrents and I don’t need storage. It’s also about 10x more expensive. If I wanted to host my own debrid server that looks like a good place to do it.
Already done. It’s called Torrent Streaming and lets you stream-on-demand anything that exists as a torrent without having to torrent anything yourself.
A client that can stream these Spotify torrents with an interface that works like Spotify (low bar, I know) will be awesome, but also including a database to match songs to artists so users can send money directly to the artists they listen to will make it revolutionary.
