Yep, it just felt like she wanted to make sure she had total control over the beginning, middle and end of the story. It all felt rushed, and too tidy. Part of what gripped me about the first was the mystery, what happened to everyone, how long Gilead lasted etc. It was like it was written by someone totally different
I can’t disagree with this take. I enjoyed reading the sequel, but the pacing seemed off and it wrapped too cleanly.
