They have a pervasive obsession with apartheid era South Africa ie ‘the good times’ of white rule, and tbh their surplus is generally overpriced and not great on sizing choices. You’re paying for their marketing instead, like a lot of the newer surplus webstores.
Best avoided, don’t feed the chuds. Good alternatives include;
- Coleman’s
- Thunderhead Outfitters
- Literally any eBay seller
- Sportsman’s Guide

Thanks for the link to Thunderhead, I hadn’t ran across them. Milsurp used to be the way to go for budget camping gear. Not so much any more, but I still keep an eye out for deals.
I’ve actually been very surprised by them, I upcycled some surplus duffel bags they described as “good” but tbh aside from the expected sharpie marks and a carry strap that is juuust starting to give out? Top marks, would pay $13 again
