I agree that the amount of water and electricity these AI centers gobble up is a concern. But I don’t know what you mean by our way of life. Personally I think it’s very useful when judiciously used. It’s dangerous if NASA haphazardly tosses AI generated code into the OS for a rocket going on a moon mission. But to quickly generate a meme or YT thumbnail is harmless.

Companies are the ones that will be using it the most, and they won’t limit themselves. As the technology improves humans will be thrown out of creative fields or turned from creators to middle managers. Human expression has been innately human for all of history until now, that is what is threatened. We will no longer connect with each other through art. This productivity cult kills all, what are we even being productive for, what is the end goal?

AI can’t function without human input. AI can’t think and it can’t create. It just stick puzzle pieces together. And we are where it gets its puzzle pieces from. If humans are thrown out of creative fields, AI will feed on itself, and produce a bunch of bizarre garbage. More so than it already does. The companies that understand this will survive. The companies that don’t will go bankrupt.
